Together;Lancasters’ very first event kicked off in Grizedale bar with copious amounts of digestives, ‘brews’ and, as requested, jammie dodgers.

The relaxed environment created a great atmosphere for people downstairs in the bar area to come up and join in discussing both pros and cons of University life, and mental health awareness. We had a mixture of National and International students attend, so we got to hear about the differences in mental health campaigning they had experienced both in Lancaster and their home countries.

One activity carried out was where students were asked to write down on a piece of paper how they felt about University life and had their pictures taken with it.

The event was an opportunity for both students and the Together;Lancaster team to introduce each other. This event was important in getting our message out whilst also understanding various concerns and experiences of Lancaster University students who kindly shared their stories on mental health issues.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, and for those of you who weren’t able to come, please keep an eye out for our next event!
